Jam Kitchen Supervisor
At Te Horo Foods we have a vacancy for a Jam Kitchen Supervisor. This is an important position within the company as the Jam Kitchen Supervisor is ultimately responsible for consistently producing the brand’s high quality.
While the successful applicant will be expected to personally carry out and/or supervise the cooking, they will also be required to organise and administer the total kitchen operations. This includes supervising one other cook and a store person (when appointed).
Te Horo jam is a new brand launched in November last year and sales of the brand are growing rapidly. Our success is based on the quality of our jam and this is in turn on the methods and recipes we use along with the dedication of our staff.
The way we make our jam is simple. We use the old fashioned and proven method of one pan at time using just fruit and sugar. However, we make lots of pans each day. So what is required to be successful in the role is an appreciation of what makes a great traditional jam and the commitment to do what is required – over and over again.
Initially, the position is permanent part time (currently three to four eight hour days per week). We expect the kitchen will be working full time once sales grow and we have added new products to the range.
